With a background of over twenty years as a commercial lawyer in private practice and as in-house corporate counsel to two very different industries, Carol Fitzwilliam's insider knowledge of the legal profession, combined with best practices for senior level recruitment, give her a unique perspective on the needs of both corporate clients and legal candidates. She has built a network of strong and lasting professional relationships.
Carol Fitzwilliam received a Bachelor of Arts in English and French Literature from Sir George Williams University (now Concordia University) in 1973, and a Bachelor of Civil Law from the Université de Montréal in 1977. She was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1978.
A member of several Boards of Directors, Carol Fitzwilliam currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Palais des congrès de Montréal, as founding president of FemmArte and on Canada Revenue Agency's (CRA) Charities Partnership and Outreach Program, Application Review Committee. Past Boards include International Women's Forum, YWCA Montreal, McMaster University's Women and Cardiovascular Disease Advisory Board, CRA's Charities Advisory Committee, International Women's Forum of Canada and Centennial Academy. She is a Governor of the Quebec Bar Foundation, a 2002 YWCA Women of Distinction Award recipient, a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors Corporate Governance College and an accredited corporate director (ICD.D).
Prior to joining Fitzwilliam Legal Recruitment in 2009, Raymond Crevier practiced law for 44 years at the Montreal office of Ogilvy Renault, a Canadian firm of close to 450 lawyers and patent and trade-mark agents. The firm also has offices in Toronto, Quebec City, Ottawa and London (England). His practice was focused on many aspects of business law, including securities law and in particular public financing, the acquisition and sale of public and private businesses, the formation of businesses and the negotiation of shareholders’ agreements.
From 1992 to 2004, Raymond acted as National Managing Partner of Ogilvy Renault. In that capacity, he was responsible for the strategic and administrative direction of the firm and was chairman of its Executive Committee, the highest authoritative committee in the firm. During this period, Ogilvy Renault, which had approximately 175 lawyers in 1991 practising essentially in Montreal, went through a geographic and demographic expansion to become the firm it is today.
During his active law practice, Raymond was a member of the Board of Directors of a number of Canadian companies and of not-for-profit organisations. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Axa Assurances Inc, and sits on its Investment and its Ethics & Governance Committees.
Raymond received his Bachelor of Arts from Collège Stanislas (Montreal) in 1957 and his Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill University in 1960. He was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1961.
Lori is our Senior Researcher who guides and directs all the firm's research activities. After working as a legal secretary in corporate and commercial law in both small and large Montreal law firms and in the legal department of a major Canadian retail corporation, Lori joined this specialized recruitment practice in its infancy and was instrumental in contributing to the significant growth of the firm.
She is the eyes and the ears of the profession and boasts a first name connection with an incredible number of lawyers who value her in-depth knowledge of who's who in the legal profession.
Céline has over 20 years of experience in the legal field. She contributes to the executive searches of the firm.
She has worked as a legal assistant in small and large Montreal law firms and to the managing partner of one of the largest law firms in Canada offering services on a national and international scale.
Céline has built a solid reputation as a go-to person and is well respected for her knowledge of the legal profession and determination to serve the client.
